If you prefer to get married outdoors, the Lady Palmers Pavilion is for you. Our gorgeous Cardinals Court which is perfect for your wedding breakfast. Selected bedrooms will also be available for you to view and our team will be on hand to have an informal chat about booking Darlington’s only castle for your wedding.
The Cardinals Court is where our wedding breakfasts take place. This was originally the main entrance to the castle, now lovingly restored with a glass roof. The courtyard looks onto the original columns. The rooms are traditionally set up with a top table and either round or long tables, depending on the number of guests.
The Ballroom, with its 16th-century architecture and direct access outside, is the perfect location for your ceremony to take place. As your guests are seated, you can walk down the red carpet, directly from either outdoors or indoors depending on your preference and say your vows in front of your guests.
We are a very popular venue for civil partnerships. A civil partnership is a legally recognised relationship between two people of the same sex. We have a licence to get married in our beautiful Ballroom, or outdoors in our ceremony garden, Lady Palmers Pavilion. Please just contact us for further details or to arrange a viewing.
We have recently installed Lady Palmers Pavilion for outdoor ceremonies to take place. Surrounded by mature trees and colourful flowers, this is a great addition to our wedding packages. If the sun is shining, where better to say ‘I do’ with the castle in the backdrop. If the weather isn’t favourable there’s always the option of using our 16th-century ballroom which will be available to your wedding party.
A selection of some of our favourite wedding photo’s throughout the years.
