Afternoon Tea consists of a delicious range of dainty sandwiches, homemade cakes and scones served with clotted cream and preserves with a pot of tea or coffee. Our Afternoon Tea is from £22.95 per person. There is also the option of The Grand Afternoon Tea, which is everything included in our afternoon tea option, plus a mini bottle of Prosecco for £29.95 per person.
The children don’t have to miss out as we offer a kiddies afternoon tea for under 10-year-olds at only 15.00 per person.
We also offer a traditional cream tea which comprises of a pot of tea or coffee and a homemade scone with clotted cream and preserves, or a cheese scone with butter for £10.95.
First introduced by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford as The Duchess would become hungry around four o’clock in the afternoon. The household meals were usually served around eight o’clock, which therefore left a long wait between lunch and dinner. She asked for a tray of tea and slices of bread and butter to be brought into her room. This became a habit of hers and she began inviting friends to join her. Soon after it became a fashionable social event. During the 1880’s upper class and society, women would change into long gowns, gloves and hats for their afternoon tea which was traditionally served in the drawing room.
So where better than to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea than at a 12th-century castle? Afternoon Tea can be served in one of our beautiful rooms, or if the sun is shining, outdoors on the patio.

Grand Afternoon Tea £29.95 per person
Our grand afternoon tea includes everything in the traditional afternoon tea plus a mini bottle of Prosecco.
Kiddies Afternoon Tea £15.00 per child under 10 years old
Children can enjoy a kiddie friendly afternoon tea to enjoy alongside the adults.
Cream Tea £10.95 per person
Enjoy a delicious homemade fruit or cheese scone and a pot of either tea or coffee.
