Real life wedding couple: Joseph and Kimberly Weatherall
Date of Wedding: 26.08.19 Bank Holiday Monday
Booking the wedding
We went for a wedding consultation at Walworth Castle and we did not look at any other venues. We knew straight away Walworth Castle was the venue for us and we booked straight away, with 11 months to spare before the big day.
We chose Walworth Castle because it’s a traditional beautiful style venue with amazing grounds and we were hopeful for amazing weather to marry outside at the Lady Pavilion in which we were so lucky to get been the hottest Bank holiday August weekend to date. Also, Ailsa the wedding planner was super helpful and friendly. She was always there to help with anything, nothing was a problem. She was fantastic.
The Hen and Stag
My hen due was in Liverpool we stayed at the Shankley Hotel we did cocktail making, a half-Naked butler Service with lots of party games in our room to get the night started in Liverpool’s square!! we visited Alma De Cuba Club for food and drinks and also had a spa afternoon in the Signature sister’s hotel.
Joe’s stag due was Ibiza where he enjoyed 3 big clubs Elrow@Amnesia, Glitterbox@Hi and Ocean Beach all his groomsmen dressed him as a big baby flying out at 4;30 am!
The planning
My most favourite part of planning the wedding was of course getting to try lots of beautiful dresses and choosing ‘the one’ then all the bridal party wear with colour schemes to follow as we were looking for a certain style.
Favourite part of the day
Our most favourite part of the wedding had to be the ceremony seeing all our friends and family when walking in and having my sister do a reading with our son having the owl deliver our rings is something, we will cherish forever
The food and drink
For our wedding breakfast we chose a soup which wasn’t on the menu which Walworth were happy to do, followed by the chicken wrapped in bacon with a traditional roast. Pudding was hot chocolate fudge cake with cream. The evening we chose from a traditional buffet menu. we had joes favourite lager on arrival drinks, which is Peroni and of course prosecco for the ladies. We added an extra bottle of white and red wine on to each table, which was a lovely touch.
The styling
Our colour scheme was bright and bold. Bright cerise pink with navy, sun flowers and wildflowers. Lisa Charles helped assist with colours and decor that would work best with our whole scheme. We can highly recommend her.
