Room 29 is a Superior Suite set within the south-east tower of Walworth Castle, combining the character and history of the Castle with a clean, modern feel.
The double bedroom sits within the tower and features a window seat overlooking the gardens and surrounding farmland, along with a full-length mirror and TV. The separate living area has plenty of space to settle in, with a large sofa, electric fireplace, large TV, dressing table, wardrobe, coffee machine and kettle. Look up, and you’ll also find one of the room’s standout features: its beautifully painted ceiling.
Two large windows bring plenty of views into the living area: one looks across the gardens along the south side of the Castle, while the other faces east towards the garden terrace and woodland.
The large bathroom features a freestanding bath and walk-in couples’ shower, giving this suite a luxurious feel and, coupled with the bedroom and large living area, making it perfect for romantic escapes.
Room 29 also has a fascinating connection to the Castle’s past. It is said to be the room where King James VI of Scotland stayed on his journey to London to become King James I.
Located on the first floor, Room 29 is reached via approximately 28 stairs, and there is no lift access. The suite also adjoins a bridal dressing room, which is available for weddings only.
