We are very excited to be writing our first ever blog for Walworth Castle, and we’ve decided to shout about our new website! Due to the hospitality industry constantly shifting and changing, it is a challenge to be current and relevant. With new technologies and information being at the forefront, having an online presence is essential in keeping up to date with new trends, and being able to change promotions, room rates and hotel information at the touch of a button.
After much consideration we decided to use a local Darlington company, Hush Digital, who are a specialists in this area. Their friendly, yet professional approach made creating the new website an adventure rather than a chore.
We wanted to make the website interactive with lots of moving images. This is why we decided to use drone footage on the opening page. We felt that a moving image was a lot more engaging than a still image. We hope to update the website with seasonal drone footage and images, which will show the castle in all its glory throughout the year.
There’s a plethora of information on the site, including information about all our different bedrooms, dining options, private functions, weddings and events. You can also buy gift vouchers online, which nowadays is something we felt was extremely important to our business. Moving towards the future we are also going to incorporate online event ticket sales, which will make it easy for customers to purchase tickets at the touch of a button.
We are absolutely delighted with the finished result! A website has been created which encapsulates exactly what we are about, keeping up to date with market trends and offering 21st century facilities, but showing off the fact that we are a 12th century castle.
